It is official. I am no longer a licensed medical professional in the state of Texas and I couldn’t feel more abundant, happier, more peaceful or more of a true healer than I have my entire life. The road to get here has been long, ego-driven, full of doubts and worries and lots of outside noise and advice, but totally worth it.
When I first left clinical medicine in 2017, I still held on to occasional locums and medical journaling gigs. I wasn’t completely out, but the magic that came my way showed me I was on the right path. Since my departure on Easter Sunday, April 2017, this is how my life has unfolded:
And on and on and on. These may have happened if I had still be in the system, but I’m not so sure. Space is essential for opportunities, for healing, for newness to come in and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last three years and it continues to pay off.
I’m here on this planet to be a healer. The expression of that has changed from a white coat wearing, stethoscope using, license-carrying, title-donning Physician Assistant to a human being who holds space for all health, healing and miracles to happen.
How I do that varies, it has multiple dimensions, as we are all multi-dimensional human beings. What it looks like varies as well from mommying to hosting sound baths to guided meditations to working with clients and their inner voices.
What it feels like, what goes through my mind, body and spirit is the same. It’s expansive, fun, aligned, light, in flow, creative, refreshing and full of goodness.
It sounds super woo, but at this point, I don’t care. I’m not here to make the world happy or fit into someone else’s box. I’m here to explore, adventure, have fun, serve in whatever capacity my heart leads me to with whoever I choose and to love. And also to remember the path back to unconditional love for me and for all of humanity.
If you know me at my core, you know I will continue to love and dig into the science and medicine of magic and miracles. You know that there will be an explanation physiologically, biologically, neurologically and immunologically for why health and healing happens. But mostly, I’m interested in how the soul, the spirit, emotions, our mental state, our environment, our people and the collective influence, inspire and transform our physical state and how to get to a place where all of these aspects work in harmony.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. I love you very much.
